Leslie Dunkling[1] (voiced by Mae Whitman[2][3]) is a character from Teacher's Pet

Official Description

"Leslie and Leonard have been best pals since they were both in diapers - until this year when Leslie decided to come to terms with the fact that she's a girl. Leslie, outspoken and unafraid of anything, has no clue that Leonard secretly likes her. She does however, adore Spot and just like the other girls in class, she is crushing on the new kid, Scott!"

History

Teacher's Pet

Leslie is Leonard's love interest and a girl in school, who really likes Scott. Like the other humans, she's too ignorant to tell that Spot and Scott are one and the same. The most notable episodes that focus on her and Leonard's relationship are: A Lick is Still A Kiss, What's Sweat Gotta Do With It?, Taint Valentines Day, Inspector Leadready II, Double Dog Dare, and All About Eavesdropping.

Teacher's Pet: The Movie

Leslie only appears in the classroom scenes. She states that she is going to visit her grandmother's farm.

Physical Appearance

Leslie is a 10 year old girl with pale skin, yellow scelera, and long navy blue hair. She wears a red long sleeve blouse and blue skirt, red shoes, and golden pearl earrings.

Personality

Leslie breaks the popular girl stereotype, as she is not spoiled and treats almost all the other students in class with respect. Leonard has a crush on her, but he can hardly talk to her, often getting tongue-tied when trying to reveal his true feelings. Leslie is the most popular girl in the class, particularly with the boys. She is very kind, sweet, and intelligent.

Relationships with other characters

Leonard Helperman

Leslie and Leonard have been best friends since they were babies. They were inseparable, until the 4th grade when she decided to not hang out with him as much because he's a boy, but they remained good friends. Leonard likes Leslie but she doesn't know that.

Younghee Mandel-Baum

Younghee is Leslie's best friend. They are often seen hanging out together. It is unknown if Leslie is aware that Younghee likes Leonard.

Spot/Scott (friend)

Leslie enjoys playing with Spot when he is a dog. As Scott, Leslie admires him for his amazing talents, eloquent speeches and brain smarts.

Quotes

  • "Cool purple bunny backpack!"
  • "Nice fire truck pajamas!"

Trivia

  • Leslie has a doll called, "Mrs. Fluffington."
  • The only episode where Mae Whitman doesn't voice Leslie is in Taint Valentine's Day, where she is voiced by Cree Summer instead.
