Dr. Ivan Krank is the main antagonist of Teacher's Pet: The Movie. He is the uncle of Ian and an evil genius. He is voiced by Kelsey Grammer.

History[]

Early Life[]

According to his song, Dr. Krank was mocked and laughed at for his scientific beliefs by everyone, including his mother. He then relocated to a swamp in Florida and set up a laboratory to build a machine that changes animals into human beings. However, despite his research and equipment, Krank kept failing due to the selection of his subjects, which were an alligator named Dennis and a mosquito named, Adele, respectively. This resulted in them becoming mutants.

Teacher's Pet: The Movie[]

Dr. Krank is first seen on "The Barry Anger Show" where the host interviews him and he explains he can turn animals into human beings. Spot finds this as the opportunity to live his dream of becoming a human boy and goes to Florida see him.

When Spot and Leonard find Krank's lab, the scientist tries to turn a frog into a human but he only makes it 'moo'. Angered, Krank orders his Dennis and Adele to help him destroy the machine, but before he can, Spot arrives and convinces Krank to not destroy the machine and that the reason he is failing is because he needs a mammal to make a man, not swamp creatures (as mammals have hair like humans).

Spot is turned into a human but instead, he's turned into a man not a boy (his age in dog years). Krank traps Leonard and Spot in a metal cage to use them as living proof of his genius. As a soon as Krank leaves to make plans for his world tour, his nephew, Ian arrives and sets the duo free in exchange for a chew toy. When Krank finds out, he grounds Ian for the rest of the summer and traps him in a web as punishment. He also sends his minions, Dennis and Adele to capture Spot and bring him back.

Later, when Ian calls his parents to take him home, Krank tells him to stay off the phone. Dennis and Adele arrive to ask Krank for some food, but Krank refuses and tells them not to return without Spot.

The next night, Leonard arrives at the lab to turn into a dog to be with Spot, but Krank uses him as bait. Suddenly, Spot, Pretty Boy, and Jolly arrive in time to save Leonard. Spot inserts the nickel where Krank gave him earlier in the machine and it turns him into a mouse and Jolly chases him out of the lab. It is unknown what became of Krank afterwards or if he survived the explosion.

Appearance[]

Dr. Krank appears to have pasty bluish gray skin, red lips, a blue hair, male pattern baldness, a unibrow yellow sclera and a long red nose. He wears a scientists outfit and appears to have a needle in his pocket. He also has a scar between his eyes.

Personality[]

As noted by everyone else in the film, Krank is a "wacko" and a psychopath who is obsessed with science and doesn’t care for nature at all. Despite Dennis and Adele regarding him as their "father", he doesn’t treat them well at all and instead, yells at and insults them. He was also willing to harm Leonard and exploit Spot for the sake of becoming famous, not caring about how they might feel. Despite this, he seems to care about Ian, since he’s the only one who truly believed in him.

Trivia[]

  • Krank is the only major antagonist in the series.
  • While not confirmed, it is possible that Krank is Ian’s maternal uncle, as he somewhat resembles his mother.
  • Despite being a "man of science", Krank seems to lack common sense, as he didn’t think about having proof of Spot's dog heritage when exposing him to the world. It is possible that he was going to do displays of animal-human transformations.
  • He was originally going to look like the evil scientist from the Looney Tunes cartoon, Water Water Every-Hare.
